Challenge
Build a game on custom hardware, UI had to work properly with 8 people touching the screen at the same time, 3D game had to work visual from all viewing angles, UI had to be shown and readable from all angles, sound had to target players individually, the UI had to onboard players fast, and have a low learning curve with little to no guidance. the players cards had to be protected from other seeing since this game is dealing will real money
Solution
We found a way for the screen and Unreal to have a 100 touch points, when usually a screen is 8. for 3D the way we stacked chips, and used shadows to make the game viewable from all angles, the table and 8 player UIs, and center table UI. there was 8 speakers, each speaker target sound to the active player so the cards and chips sounds real, we made the UX super simple for new players, there was never a way to get into a wrong menu, and get lost. We had a special distortion glass that covered the players card so when the player cupped their hands on the table only they could see.
